When it comes to dating apps and online dating everyone’s experience is unique. Some people log on, swipe and meet the love of their lives. While other’s find it hard to make a real connection. If you are having no luck with dating apps and online dating, below are 3 tips that can help.
Get super clear about the person you want to meet
One of the main reasons why people struggle with dating apps is because they are not clear about the person they want to meet. Simply swiping through numerous profiles will not produce the man or woman of your dreams. You must have a clear image in your mind of the person you want to meet.
Last year a new client came to me fed up with dating apps. She expressed, that after trying for several months, that she had no luck with dating apps. She tried different apps, different pics, and initiating contact. However, nothing worked and she never met any good prospects to date.
No Luck With Dating Apps? Get Clear!
After working with me for about a month she started having good results, and eventually she met the man of her dreams. She was still using the same dating apps, but what changed was her focus. Instead of aimlessly swiping left to right she learned how to actively search for a particular person in mind. The key was helping her to get clear about the person she wanted to meet.
Create a profile that stands out from the rest
Another reason why you may be having no luck with dating apps is because of your profile. Most people create a profile without really thinking about who they are trying to attract. For instance, if your ideal partner loves hiking, but your profile picture is of you hanging out at a bar, you probably will not attract someone that enjoys hiking as much as you do.
One of my male clients was struggling with dating apps, but did not know why. I took a look at his dating profile I immediately understood why. For starters, his profile pic was a selfie of him with his shirt off. And, his bio only included threes sentences, none of which included his hobbies, interest or his values.
I helped him make a few minor changes and just like that, his dating app experience changed.
Chat offline with strangers
The last reason you are having no luck with dating apps is because you are too wrapped up with your lack of results. As I have mentioned in my previous posts, dating apps are tools not a cure to help you end your single life. If you want to succeed online, you have to feel good about your chances of meeting someone when you’re off-line.
Learn how to chat with strangers when you are NOT online. This might include talking to potential prospects at your local grocery store, coffee shop, or joining a MeetUp group to meet people doing the things you love.
More Focus!
The objective is to shift your focus to one that is open, willing and available to meet your perfect partner. Instead of being someone that is frustrated because you’re having no luck with dating apps. This small change will alleviate the pressure of meeting someone online and create a better user experience when you are using dating apps.
