You can make these tasty no bake peanut caramel bars in just a few minutes using your microwave. The perfect snack for summer or when you are short on time.
We also love this one, because we don’t have to turn on the oven and heat up our entire home. It’s quick, simple, full of sweet and salty flavor, and the perfect snack to satisfy your sweet tooth.
You will love this sweet and chocolatey combination. It’s also a great recipe to have the kids help with as well.
We made these for our neighborhood party the other week, and they were a hit. Everyone was asking what was in them, and if they could get the recipe. So, here it is. This is a recipe you will definitely want to keep handy.
Would these work with almond butter?
This recipe calls for peanut butter. We definitely recommend peanut butter because we have found that it has the best texture for these bars.
However, you could use almond butter. The texture and taste will be a little different but it would definitely work still.
What could I use in place of Cheerios?
For this recipe we used Cheerios cereal (specifically honey nut Cheerios), however, if you don’t have Cheerio’s on hand, or would prefer something different, here are a few other options we recommend:
- Golden Graham Cereal
- Frosted Cheerios Cereal
- Chex Cereal
- Mashed Graham Crackers
- Pretzel Rods (crushed)
- Frosted Flakes Cereal
- Chocolate Cheerios Cereal
- Peanut Butter Cheerios Cereal
- Coco Puffs Cereal
- Cocoa Pebbles Cereal
- Rice Krispies Cereal
- Vanilla Wafers (crushed)
- Teddy Grahams
Really any peanut butter, chocolate, or vanilla based cereal would work for this recipe. If you want to go for a more sweet and salty combination, we recommend using pretzels.
We have also made these using Teddy Grahams and Graham crackers and they were delicious.
To crush them, I will usually just take a rolling pin and crush them up a little bit. You don’t want them too crumbled or they will have a hard time sticking together. You may need to make more of the peanut butter caramel mixture.

Ooh, these look awesome. I work at Starbucks and we sell something similar, but without peanut butter. PB takes this treat to a whole new level.
