Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said this to an audience in Montgomery, Alabama in 1957 – and it still rings true today and every day.
So, what are you doing for others? How do you give back to your community?
Observed annually on the third Monday in January, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service. This year, the 25th #MLKDayOfService will take place on Monday, January 20.
How can you honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s life and legacy while serving your community? Make January 20 a day on, not off.
Volunteer opportunities are being coordinated in schools, libraries, and communities across Pennsylvania and the nation. Connect with educators, building leaders, local librarians, and lawmakers to learn more about how you can participate in #MLKDay volunteer programs and activities, or use the Corporation for National and Community Service's volunteer search tool to find an opportunity near you.
Don't start and stop on January 20, though – find (or create!) ways to support, strengthen, and serve your community year-round.
