The School Leaving Certificate, commonly abbreviated as SLC, is the final examination of Class 11 and Class 12, which is also known as the +2 course in Nepal.

To elaborate, the national average for GPA is around a 3.0, so a 3.1 puts you above average nationally. Keep in mind the 3.0 national average represents all students, not just students applying to college, so the average GPA of students admitted to colleges is higher than the national average.

Grade point average (GPA) is a measurement of academic performance through a cumulative average of all grades. A 3.2 GPA represents a B average and is a few tenths from a B+.

A+ refers to 'Outstanding" that will be given to students scoring 90 to 100, A to students scoring between 80 and 89, B+ to those scoring 70 and 79, B to score between 60 and 69, C+ to scores between 50 to 59, and C to scores between 40 and 49.

Another policy commonly used by 4.0-scale schools is to mimic the eleven-point weighted scale (see below) by adding a .33 (one-third of a letter grade) to honors or advanced placement class.
