Becoming a validator on NEAR is permissionless. If you have the necessary technical skills (or use a plug&play solution like from Avado), and the required $NEAR to meet the minimum seat price, you can set up a node and become a validator within 48-72 hours. Staking NEAR offers rewards based on the percentage of your stake within a validator pool. Every year, NEAR rewards account for 5% of the total supply of NEAR available. Stakers are allocated 90% of this reward, while 10% goes into the NEAR treasury.
