It’s been a minute since we’ve caught up with Nat Natraj, Co-Founder and CEO of AccuKnox! In this week’s #MeetUsMonday, Nat breaks down how this portfolio company is protecting data in the #cloud with zero-trust security!

My name is Matt Natraj. I'm the co-founder and CEO of Equinox. A single cloud instance gets affected. Are owned by a threat actor, a hacker. He can have cascading effects across the cloud. These are very advanced nation state level attacks, supply chain level attacks. And to detect leave alone remediate. Or Prevent requires very sophisticated technology, broadly called Zero trust security. So these are three things zero Trust says first. You either have been attacked or you will be attacked. Second, you've got to be extremely careful about giving privilege, which means the default situation should be deny all and give privilege only after verification. Third is even after this you have to do continuous monitoring, continuous compliance and that's really what we do for corporations. So we had been working with the Sri cyber security team. To figure out what is the best way to implement zero trust security, which means very high levels of assurance for the cloud workloads, which means we do what is called application firewalling. Every application is essentially protected. Using a dynamic firewall, which means that only legitimate applications that are supposed to access it can access it, and nobody else can access it. They've been great partners for us, right? Anytime you have a question, anytime we want to bounce an idea past, anytime we want an introduction to a client or a partner. Or an investor. They've been fantastic. So we view them more almost like more as partners than investors.
