My mobile data isn't working? ›

If your Android mobile data is not working, the first fixes you should try are restarting the phone, checking if Airplane mode is on, inspecting the SIM card, and checking your mobile plan details.

It's possible that your phone is configured correctly but you've simply run out of data. Contact your carrier and ask about your data plan usage. Disable Wi-Fi. This can fix issues with no data if you're not getting a strong enough Wi-Fi signal but are still connected.

Too many users can slow down a network.

This is true for both mobile data and Wi-Fi. If too many users are using the network at one time, it will strain the network and slow down your data speed. This tends to be a bigger problem during peak hours, such as in the evening when everybody is home and using the internet.

But weak, inconsistent, or poor-quality signals can happen for a number of reasons. Adverse weather, interference from building materials or terrain, distance from your nearest cell tower, or network overload can all contribute to poor signal.

Move outside or near a window. Move to another room to see if you get a better signal. If you have a 4G device, make sure 4G is switched on. Try turning your phone off and on again.

If you are in a poor network coverage area, or between tall buildings or mountains, your data connection weakens or drops altogether. As your device needs a strong signal every time to work efficiently, your device tries to switch between different cell towers, causing data interruptions.

Sometimes, LTE not working is the fault of the phone's modem, Android OS updates, or hardware. If you've recently dropped your device, that could have damaged the antenna or other internal components.
