Alright so i am attempting to have a romance with morrigan,(i am a male city elve). I am wondering how do i truly start a romance. Do i talk to her to start it or just get a high enough approval rating? Finally how do i know the actual number for my approval? Thanks
Get high enough approval and pick particular options in camp dialogue with her. The romance options are usually fairly obvious. You cna also initiate the romance path through dialogue regarding the plot gifts you give her. A character's approval is reflected in a bar underneath them in the character/item/etc. screens. It goes from -100 to 100.
With Morrigan a fairly easy way to achieve a romance is to complete her character quest and retrieve Flemeth's Grimiore. This is difficult but I believe completing a character's quest is necessary for them to have a romance with you. Even if that is not so, doing her quest will get you a large bonus in approval.
It is not necessary to complete Morrigan's quest to begin a romance. To begin the romance, you first have to get her interested by choosing dialogue options. You can do this by asking Morrigan "Did you grow up in the Korcari Wilds?" and the selecting the "You can probe me anytime." option. Or when Morrigan asks you to look for the Black Grimoire in the Circle Tower, choose "And? What's in it for me?". This will switch her approval to romance mode. Talk to Morrigan after achieving a approval rating of 51 or higher. She will say "'Tis cold in my tent, all alone."
By completing Morrigan's personal quest Morrigan will fall in love with you when your approval rating is between 91 and 100, otherwise she will simply adore you, even if her approval is 100. If you complete Morrigan's quest without choosing the romance options she will become friendly.
After she becomes friendly at this point there is no way to bed/romance her at all? Not even by lowering her approval?
And is there any way to check if she's in love/adore mode or whatever in the ps3/xbox360 versions or is that only available in the pc?
I play the PS3 version and the bars are diff coulors black is -100 then red around -80 orange at 0 yellow 30 around light yellow and white at 100
