- Location(s):Watoga Municipal Center, Abandoned Bog Town, RobCo Research Center
- Prerequisite(s):While approaching Watoga in Cranberry Bog, you'll receive a transmission from the Mayor of Watoga which will give you a Miscellaneous quest to go to the Mayor's Office. Complete that quest first to start this quest.
Learn more about the Saboteur
- Starting from the mayor's office (inside the "Watoga Municipal Center"), use the terminal on the mayor's desk. Select "Read this! [HIGH PRIORITY]" followed by "Mayor for a Day."
Find the Saboteur's hideout
- Exit the building and head north up Route 65.
- Locate the Saboteur's hideoutinside a small warehouse with the words "Private Property No Trespassing Keep Out" written on the door.
Search the hideout for clues
- There are 5 clues to locate inside the hideout.
- Start with the body of Scott Turner to collect the first piece of evidence.
- Crack into the terminal on the desk and read the entries.
- Select "Safe Control" from the terminal to unlock the safe on the ground (under the cabinet on the left side of the desk).
- Investigate the entire hideout to locate all of the necessary pieces of evidence.
- Note: If the clues seem to be missing:deselect the quest, change worlds, and after joining the new world, reselect the quest.
Investigate the Saboteur's work terminal
- Head north from the Saboteur's hideout to find the RobCo where the Saboteur once worked.
- Enter the building and head to the Saboteur's office on the building's east side.
- Use the terminal in his office and select "Scan Likeness" to obtain the "Robot Virus Holotape."
Take the Virus Holotape to MAIA
- Exit the RobCo building and head to "Watoga Municipal Center."
- Return to the mayor's office and interact with MAIA on the office's westwall. She will instruct you to head up to the building's roof and upload the virus from a relay tower.
Start upload process
- Exit the office and go down the hall to the elevator on the left.
- Using the elevator, head up to the roof.
- Use the marked terminal here to start the upload.
Prevent security from stopping the upload
- Guard the terminal for a full 5 minutes while fighting off waves of robotic enemies (and a Scorchbeast).
- Once you finish defending the terminal, the quest will be complete.
- Completing this quest also grants you the "Watoga Mayor Safe Combination."
- After completion, the enemies in "Watoga" will no longer be hostile; however, if you play with any friends who have not completed the quest, they will still be attacked.
