In 1744, Mary Hawkins (Rosie Day) traveled to Paris to stay with her uncle, Silas Hawkins, unaware that he intended to arrange her marriage to the Vicomte Marigny, an elderly French nobleman. During her stay, she met and fell in love with a young curate.

24, 1944, 1st Lt. Mary Louise Hawkins was evacuating 24 patients from the fighting at Palau to Guadalcanal when the C-47 ran low on fuel.
