Should adaptive battery be on or off Samsung? ›

Personally, I turn it on. But it depends on your usage and the apps that you run as to whether you want it on or off. Personally I have not noticed adverse effects charging from 20-100%. Adaptive Battery aims to save Battery life by restricting how Apps run in the Background.

Android™ devices with the Battery optimization setting (Android 8. x and lower) can enhance battery life by placing apps in Doze mode or App Standby. The optimization setting is enabled by default. Disabling optimization may impact the device's battery life.

The amperage and voltage being passed through at 100% is much, much lower than it is when the battery is at 80%. An 80% limit would cause more heat damage than the 100% limit.
