Summers
The weather in Coorg is pleasant for most of the year. Summer usually begins in late February and continues till June. In the summer, temperatures can go as high as 35 degrees Celsius.
At night, they may drop to between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius. If you’re planning a visit to Coorg during the summer, you will be able to see the March blossoms and will be enveloped by the aroma of coffee in the air.
Winters
October marks the onset of winter. Winters here can be chilly but they are still very pleasant. The winter temperature goes up to 20 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperatures in this season are around 15 degrees Celsius.
The coldest days are usually in December-January. At this time the minimum temperature can fall to about 5 degrees Celsius. The temperature gradually begins to increase at the end of January.
Monsoons
Monsoons in Coorg are also quite cool. They begin in July and continue until September. As the rains cascade over the hills, the weather turns cool, humid and wet. The hills turn a lush green and flowers spot the hillsides. The rains can be quite heavy here.
On average, Coorg receives between 2,500 and 3,500 millimeters each year. As a result of the rains, the waterfalls in the region come alive with vivacious energy. This is the best time to visit them. This is also the best time for water-based adventure sports like river rafting.
