There are all kinds of really simple maca powder recipes that make it easy to incorporate maca into your daily diet! Maca has numerous health benefits, including helping with hormonal balance.
Have you heard of maca powder? Maca powder is a stress-fighting adaptogen (read about adaptogens in my post) and superfood (food that’s jam-packed with nutrients). I’ve written a whole post aboutMaca Powder Benefits, including its numerous health benefits, where it comes from, and how much of it you should eat in a day. (Totally worth a read!) In this post, I’m going to share some super easy maca powder recipes for better hormonal balance.
But first, what does maca powder taste like?
Maca powder has a nutty and malty flavor, sort of similar to butterscotch. It’s extremely versatile and complements many different foods!
So where can I find it?
You can buy maca powder in a lot of health stores and grocery stores like as Trader Joe’s. You can also find maca powder on Amazon. I recommend the Terrasoul Superfoods brand for maca powder that is a good price, as well as organic:

I began eating maca powder by simply adding a teaspoon to my daily smoothies. It adds a very subtle nutty flavor that works with fruity, veggie, and cocoa-y smoothie flavors really well!
My favorite smoothie to add maca power to is my Healthy Pumpkin Pie Smoothie, pictured above. It’s made with pumpkin, almond milk, maca powder, flax meal, almond butter, dates, and pumpkin pie spice. It literally tastes like pumpkin pie in a glass!
If you drink a daily cup of coffee, you can simply stir in a teaspoon or two of maca powder to add a bit of flavor and the numerous health benefits. There are also a lot of superfood lattes you can make that include maca powder, but without coffee! The maca will give you a natural energy boost, so maybe you won’t even need the caffeine anymore. 😉

This recipe for No-Bake Chaga Maca Cookies by One Green Planet looks amazing! It’s made with super-good-for-you ingredients, including maca powder.
You can add maca powder to most chocolatey desserts and have it turn out amazingly! Most dessert recipes you will find that are made with maca powder are no-bake desserts. The reason for that is that some of maca’s nutritional benefits may be lost when baked.
Since energy balls and homemade Larabars are no-bake treats, you don’t have to worry about the health benefits getting baked out. Energy balls and Larabars are usually made with a base of dates with nuts and then additional ingredients for flavor and nutrition. To make them, you put all the ingredients in a food processor, then form the dough into bites or bars.
You can really add maca powder to any energy ball or Larabar recipe! Or, you can make the Vanilla Maca Bliss Balls pictured above with just 4 ingredients!

This is one of those recipes I could drool just looking at. Doesn’t it look incredible? This Energizing Maca, Almond Butter, & Cacao Overnight Oats recipe is really easy to make! You just throw all the ingredients together, refrigerate overnight, and it’s a ready-to-eat breakfast full of nutritional goodness.
You can of course add maca power to any oatmeal recipe, whether hot or chilled. If you’re making hot oatmeal, I would recommend stirring the maca powder in at the end rather than heating it with the oats so that you don’t lose nutritional value by cooking it. But you don’t have to use a recipe either! You can add maca powder to a bowl of plain cooked oatmeal and stir it up for an easy add-in with a nutty flavor and lots of health benefits.
