Lucifer and Gabriel are angelic siblings and the children of God and Goddess. It's unknown what was their relationship during their time in Heaven, but despite Lucifer's banishment in Hell, it appears they are still in good terms.
History[]
Lucifer and Gabriel are siblings who were created after Universe itself. After Lucifer was created together with his twin Michael, sometimes later their parents created Gabriel, who became known as the Angel of Messages. Their relationship during their time in Heaven was never much revealed, but like rest of their siblings, Lucifer tried to hide his personal things from her because of her nature as gossip.
Throughout the Series[]
Gabriel was once mentioned in Season 3, but she first appeared personally in Season 5. During the investigation, a Human victim revealed that angel stole her ceramic Angel Gabriel figurine, which Lucifer responds, "Try lending him some money. Your tune changes rather quickly." (The Angel of San Bernardino).
After Lucifer voluntarily returned to Hell, and sacrificing of his own happiness on Earth to protect his loved ones. Gabriel learned this news and told other Angels about Lucifer's return to Hell, which caused the whole Silver City to praise Lucifer for his noble sacrifice (Lucifer! Lucifer! Lucifer!).
After God announced his retirement, he brought Gabriel and her siblings to Earth for a retirement barbecue. When Lucifer arrived with Amenadiel, he complained that he didn't get an invitation. Amenadiel then asked him if he not received an invitation even through Gabriel's e-vite, which Lucifer replied that she emails him too much so he sends her straight to spam. Gabriel then heard them talking about her, popped up from behind them, and giving them a scare. She greets her fellow Archangels and informed them that Azrael couldn't make it due to her job constraints as the Angel of Death, but sent her regards.
She then told them about the rumors that Michael was spreading regarding God getting old and losing his grip on his powers, such as making everyone sing and dance, and exploding a Human, though Lucifer pointed out the fact he put the human back together again. After a short conversation, Lucifer then bid farewell to her sister so he and Amenadiel could talk to their Father, so Gabriel rejoined the others.
Once Lucifer and Amenadiel spoke to God regarding his successor, Gabriel popped up and scare again her brothers, and started asking the same question, offering her ear and promising not to tell a soul. The other Angels then started gathering around their Father, with Remiel assuming Amenadiel would take God's place, and the others agreed. Lucifer, however, revealed it wasn't going to be Amenadiel, but the handsomest Angel. Gabriel assumed that meant Hanjobadiel, but Lucifer quickly affirmed that it was going to be him.
Gabriel and the others were quick to dismiss the idea of having their fallen brother become the new Sovereign of Heaven, but Amenadiel gave Lucifer his full support. An argument then broke out over who will take their Father's place, only for God to silence them, assuring that he will choose his replacement after his retirement plan is sorted.
When Lucifer realizes that he hasn’t been listening to his father about what he wants in his retirement. He returns to his penthouse where he summons Gabriel for a special favor. He ask her to travel to Universe of their Mother and deliver her the message of God's impending retirement (Nothing Lasts Forever).
When Lucifer and Amenadiel discovered that Michael was seeking Amenadiel's necklace, Lucifer subsequently deduced that Gabriel must have taken Blade of Death and Medallion Of Life when she was in Universe of their Mother and gave it to Michael so that he can rebuild the Flaming Sword (Is This Really How It's Going To End?!).
During Battle for Supremacy, they met again in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, where Michael wanted cast the votes between him and Lucifer. Lucifer invites Michael to a one on one fight to spare Gabriel and the other siblings from death. After Michael's defeat, Gabriel accepts Lucifer as the new Sovereign of Heaven and can be seen bending the knee along with her siblings (A Chance at a Happy Ending).
