What is the Lincoln Investment Sweep Program? ›

Under The Lincoln Investment Companies Sweep Program, uninvested cash in Accounts will be automatically invested or deposited (referred to as swept) into the sweep products within the Sweep Program where your balance will be eligible to earn dividends or interest, as more fully described below.

Pershing has provided trading and clearing services for brokerage accounts and certain managed accounts at Lincoln Investment for over 25 years. If you have a CAAMS managed account or brokerage account, your account is already cleared through Pershing.

Benefits of an Insured Cash Sweep account

Insured Cash Sweep accounts offer a solution by placing your deposits, in $250,000 increments, across a network of FDIC-insured banks. Combined, those partner banks can provide several million dollars in FDIC coverage.

To withdraw money from a sweep account, one can usually do so through their online banking account or by contacting their bank directly. The customer may be required to specify the amount they want to withdraw and the account they want the funds transferred.

In general, there is a 10% penalty for withdrawals prior to age 59 1/2. But there are limited exceptions to this rule. Withdrawals may be made without penalty prior to age 59 1/2 due to death, disability, or if you separate from service if you are age 55 or older in the year of separation.
