Reliance Jio’s first touchscreen offering - JioPhone Next – is one of the most affordable smartphones in the country.
The device, made Jio in partnership with Google and launched last month, is available at JioMart Digital stores and the Reliance Digital website for an upfront payment of Rs 6,499 or through an 18- to 24-month equated monthly instalment (EMI) plan.
This is a dual-SIM smartphone with a 5.45-inch HD+ display, powered by a 1.3 Ghz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 215 SoC, paired with 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.
The device, which runs on Pragati OS based on Android Go, has a neat and easy to navigate UI. It is primarily targeted at feature phone users. The display is crisp and video streaming is satisfactory. Most of the pre-installed apps are Lite versions, but that does not impact their features.
The device only supports Jio SIM cards and users can access apps like JioCinema Lite, JioMeet, JioTV Lite and other Jio apps without subscribing to them. It also gets Google features such as Translate and Listen.
