Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Collaborate with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules (DOT, OSHA, etc.).
• Complete all required recordkeeping and reporting.
• Provide leadership to the safety committee, including technical and administrative support, and conduct quarterly safety meetings and the annual company-wide safety meeting.
• Identify opportunities to minimize and prevent workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
• Conduct employee and manager training on applicable safety standards.
• Develop and oversee the forklift certification program for warehouse personnel.
• Review safety training and recommend revisions, improvements, and updates.
• Conduct on-site safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.
• Review accident and incident reports and respond to workplace accidents, incidents, and injuries (auto and workers' compensation).
• Initiate automobile, workers’ compensation, and general liability claims with our third-party claims administrator.
• Oversee the workers’ compensation program, ensuring sick or injured employees receive appropriate medical attention, assisting employees in filing claims, and navigating the insurance system.
• Monitor workers off duty due to workplace injuries and illnesses, communicate with both employees and managers, and oversee injured workers’ return to work or light-duty assignments.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management or a related field.
• At least five years of occupational health and safety experience in an industrial or warehouse environment (e.g., Safety Director, Safety Manager, Safety Coordinator, or other relevant position).

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification from a recognized certification board: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Safety Auditor, Certified Safety Manager, or similar certification.
• Extensive knowledge of company safety policies, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, and Department of Transportation (DOT) standards.
• Forklift certification and/or Train the Trainer Forklift certification.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience conducting in-person and virtual training sessions.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
