Can teachers see answers on IXL? ›

For each skill, you'll see each student's SmartScore, questions answered, time spent, and date of their last practice session—especially useful to monitor practice results for skills you assigned.

Scroll down to find the IXL accomplishments section. Here, you'll see an overview of the student's IXL usage (questions answered, time spent, skills practiced) and a breakdown of math and ELA skills they've worked on. Pro Tip: Hover over the pie chart to see how many skills have been practiced in each strand!

Grade level guide: 100 = 1st grade, 200 = 2nd grade, 300 = 3rd grade, 400 - 4th grade, 500 = 5th grade, 600 = 6th grade, 700 = 7th grade, 800 = 8th grade, and 900 = 9th grade. By clicking on the IXL image above or the word IXL, students will be forwarded to the log in page.

Follow these steps to help students maximize their progress. Have students head to the Diagnostic arena once a week and answer questions until their diagnostic is updated. This should only take about 10-15 questions, and will take a shorter amount of time the more frequently students answer diagnostic questions.

IXL has a strong focus on math and language arts, while Khan Academy offers a wider range of subjects. Consider your learning style: If your child is a visual learner, then you may prefer Khan Academy's videos and articles. If your child is an auditory learner, then you may prefer IXL's games and quizzes.

Researchers found that the IXL Real-Time Diagnostic demonstrates high reliability as a measure of math and ELA achievement. Additionally, IXL's diagnostic is a good predictor of performance (using ILEARN as a criterion measure), with a correlation of . 90 in math and . 86 in ELA.

IXL and Kumon are both excellent online learning platforms that can help students improve their skills in a variety of subjects. However, there are some key differences between the two platforms that may make one a better fit for you than the other. IXL is online video-based and Kumon is in center tutoring.

How to get a higher score on IXL? ›

As the student answers questions correctly, the SmartScore increases. If a question is answered incorrectly, the score decreases.

For most skills on IXL, students will have to complete a minimum of 28 questions to earn a SmartScore of 100.

For instance, you can check out the Students Quickview to see how much time your students spent practicing in just the last week or over the last month. If the timer is too distracting for your students, it can be hidden, and IXL will still track their practice time from behind the scenes.

With IXL's Score Grid, you can quickly check if students have completed their homework and met specific goals. This report even displays scores by standards, so you can track how your students are progressing toward benchmarks.
