As already mentioned, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 has computing power on a par with the currently available generation of games consoles, so it's suitable for all games. It is primarily aimed at gamers who play in 1080p resolution (1,920 × 1,080 pixels) at medium to high details.
If you can make use of its extra VRAM and want a decent gaming experience in sub $300 price bracket, the RTX 3060 can still be considered in 2024. For pure gaming performance, we don't recommend buying the RTX 3060.
An RTX 3060 is basically a 1080P card, yes, it can do 1440P, just don't expect high refresh rate gaming, and don't expect it to run latest GPU intensive games well at 1440P, some visual/graphics compromises would be necessary.

The RTX 3060 12GB will work fine at 1440p with reasonable settings in most games. Newest releases will make it struggle without and even with upscaling.
