With iTunes and iCloud, you can access your iTunes Store purchases and iTunes library on all your computers, iOS devices, and iPadOS devices—wirelessly and without syncing.
Here’s how it works: When you purchase items from the iTunes Store, they’re stored in iCloud and can be downloaded on demand to any of your computers and devices that are connected to the internet and set up to use iCloud.
If you subscribe to Apple Music or iTunesMatch, you can store all of your music in your iCloud Music Library, including songs you imported from CDs and purchased from places other than the iTunes Store. You can play those songs on any of your computers or devices whenever you want.
Note: If you’re not sure if you want to use iCloud Music Library or syncing, see Intro to syncing.
To download any item from your iCloud Music Library to your computer, click the item’s iCloud Download button . To view only your downloaded items, click Downloaded in the sidebar on the left.
All iTunes Store customers have access to automatic downloads and downloads of past purchases. To use Apple Music or iTunes Match, you need to be a subscriber.
To learn how to add other content to iTunes, see How to add items.
