What percent of students at a university play on an intramural team? ›

According to the American College Health Association, the national average of college students who participate in intramural sports is 17% (Gleason, 2019).

Intramurals are designed to provide a flexible, yet structured, environment in which to participate. Sports are specified as men's, women's or co-recreational (men and women) and are offered as either tournament or league format.
