Biography[edit]
Entrance into Apex and the Golden Guardians (2019 - 2020)[edit]
Although iiTzTimmy originally made his way into Apex as a streamer, he made his competitive Apex Legends debut by attending TwitchCon San Diego near the end of 2019 as one of the open teams where he'd finish in the top 3 as one of the open teams. Although he hadn't attended any events after that year, he was eventually signed by the Golden Guardians on December 18th, 2019 alongside Deston "Bronzey" Nguyen and Devon "pfitter" Self. [4] With this team he'd take on the challenge to compete in the newly formed ALGS in 2020, and the team had a successful start as they qualified to the first major, which unfortunately got canceled due to covid outbreak. [5] In the following events afterwards the team failed to make any final appearances, and as the team eventually parted ways, iiTzTimmy announced his departure from the organization on December 1st, 2020 stating his intent was also to look for opportunities as a content creator. [6]
A focus on streaming and casually competing with SHEEEEEEESH (2021 - 2022)[edit]
For the majority of 2021 iiTzTimmy continued to focus on his streaming career, at one point even doing a 54 hour long stream to climb from Bronze to Predator in Apex Legends, reaching a peak of 147,000 viewers. [7] He had however, not fully abondoned competing just yet as together with fellow streamers Jack "NiceWigg" Martin and Anthony "Apryze" Andrade he'd play in tournaments under the teamname SHEEEEEEESH. The team found their first impressive showing at GLL Masters Spring where they ended in 5th. The team later in the year made their return as they competed in the Preseason Qualifiers. With multiple finals appearances ending in the top 10, the team managed to find themselves qualified for the first ever Pro League split in North America. However due to personal situations the team had to take care off, they took a break and ultimatily left the League after 3 weeks of competing. [8][9] The team however made their return for the Challenger Circuits where they were able to play under a less restricted schedule. And although the team continued to make consecutive finals appearances, they ultimately didn't qualify for anything further.
Nearing the end of the year however iiTzTimmy found a new organization to play under, as he signed to 100 Thieves as a content creator on November 9th, 2022 after he had spent two years without an organization since his departure from the Golden Guardians. [10]
The Dojo Miracle Run (2023)[edit]
Entering 2023, iiTzTimmy seemed to look to make a serious return to competing. Stating he found himself in a good enough space to take on the challenge, and that he would look for a player with Lyric "lyric" Quinonez. [11] Eventually the team was completed as Aidan "Osivien" Alviso joined ahead of the first Challenger Circuit tournament and they'd play under the name of The Dojo. [12] But with a lackluster result as the team failed to make finals, Noah "Tempest" Donahuejoined to replace Osivien. But even this change would not be enough as The Dojo failed to make any further finals for the next two tournaments. With only one tournament left to qualify for the last chance qualifier, iiTzTimmy made the change to completely rebuild the team around him and picked up Alexander "Enemy" Rodriguez and Tyler "Dezignful" Gardner who both came from Oxygen Esports and Elev8 Gaming respectively out of the Pro League where they failed to qualify for the Split 2 Playoffs. This team proved to be exactly what was needed to change the tides, as they were able to place 2nd at the 4th Challenger Circuit event. And due to Enemy and Dezignful having gained circuit points for their time in the Pro League, the team had secured enough points to gain a shot in the Last Chance Qualifiers for the 2023 Championship.
And at the Last Chance Qualifier The Dojo went to work. Seeded into the second round of the Winners bracket, The Dojo led by iiTzTimmy went on to have the dominant performance scoring a total of 137 points over 8 games, more than doubling the points of the 2nd place team in FURIA Esports who had 66. Carrying on their momentum, they continued to be a contender in the finals, and there they eventually found themselves on match point after 5 games together with the likes of FURIA, DNO and the Stallions. And in the following game 6 the Dojo eventually finds themselves in a final 3 versus 3 against DNO where they manage to find the opening to push them to send themselves to the Championship.
Coming from the LCQ, iiTzTimmy and The Dojo came into the tournament as underdogs, having had no LAN experience as a team that year compared to a majority of the teams attending. However during the Group Stages they had already proven themselves to be deserving of their spot. Finding a consistent performance to qualify themselves for the winners bracket. In the winners bracket they performed consistently to be in contention for the top 10, but their final game with a third place and eight kills sealed themselves a position in the tight race at the cutoff.
In the Grand Finals however The Dojo started off with a challenge where they had to contest Alliance on Thermal Station in World's Edge, a POI that has historically been dominated by the European powerhouse. But The Dojo looked to be well prepared heading into the finals as they'd come out on top in the first two maps, giving themselves some early points momentum in the match point series. As the series went on though, The Dojo struggled to find any large games up until Game 7, where they picked up a second place with a total of 15 kills, picking up 24 points in total from that game, they flew up the rankings and also pushed themselves towards match point. Although the series was ended by TSM in the game after, The Dojo had done enough to push themselves to a 4th place finish, beating the LG Chivas in the tiebreaker. Undoubtedly performing far above the expectations.
