If a seller ships an item to a buyer and it gets damaged in shipping it is NOT the seller fault. (2024)

You need to open a case with The postal service NOT EBay and the seller did his job well. Too many buyer blame the seller just because the box and item got damage.

Not sure who you think you are addressing here, but this is a user-to-user forum, and you've opened a new thread, not a reply to someone else.

Anyway, you are responsible for getting the item to the buyer in the condition in which it was sold. If it arrives damaged, the buyer is entitled to return it for a refund, as it is Not As Described due to shipping damage. If the package was insured (e.g. Priority Mail offers up to $100 indemnity at no extra charge), you can file a claim, but there's a good chance that the damage claim will be denied due to insufficient packing. As mentioned earlier, you should pack securely enough that you'd be willing to throw your own package down a flight of stairs.
