I switched from handwritten checks to direct deposit today for our payroll. How do I make sure the direct deposits went through
Hi there, freedomservice. Let me share details on how you can review your employees direct deposit status in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
If you have alreadyset up direct deposit for your employeesand you havesufficient funds in your company's bank account, then it will go through.
Furthermore, afterrunning your employees' payrolls, you can view their direct deposit statuses by navigating to thePaycheck list.
- Go to thePayrollmenu and pick theEmployeestab.
- Select your employee.
- From thePaycheck listtab, view your direct deposit status in theStatussection. Here are the terms used and their system definitions:
- Scheduled: we have everything we need to send this check to the bank and pay this employee.
- Processed: we already sent this employee’s paycheck info to the bank, and the employee will be paid by the end of the day.
- Returned: there is a problem with your employee’s bank account and, you couldn’t pay them via direct deposit.
- Canceled: Direct Deposit was not included for this specific paycheck.
- If you see no status displayed, it means that a paper check was issued.
Moreover, make sure to check out this article to learnwhen to send your direct deposit payroll to pay your employees on time. You can submit your payroll based on your direct deposit lead time.
Also, you can check out this article to learn more about direct deposit limit amounts and how to request an increase in your security limit:Get help if you’re over a direct deposit limit.
