Access past activity
- On your computer, go to drive.google.com.
- On the left click My Drive.
- In the upper right, click Info .
- Select an option. To access: Recent changes, select an option: Click Activity. Scroll down the right side. The activity of a specific file or folder, click the file or folder.
View or edit a task in Docs
- Open a document with assigned tasks in the Google Docs app.
- Tap Edit .
- On the left of an assigned checklist item, tap the assignee's avatar. Tip: If a task is completed, its title will be crossed out.
- At the bottom, tap Edit . ...
- Optional: You can also tap Open in Tasks.
To find other kinds of activity that are saved to your account:
- On your computer, go to your Google Account.
- On the left, select Data & privacy.
- On the "History settings," select My Activity.
- Above your activity, in the search bar, click More Other activity.
- Below the activity you want to find, select your option.
As an administrator, you can control whether users see each other's file activity on an Activity dashboard. File activity includes the names of users who have viewed Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides files and the time they viewed them.

See Who Viewed a Google Doc
- Select the Activity dashboard icon (jagged arrow) on the top right or Tools > Activity dashboard from the menu.
- Confirm that Viewers is selected on the left side.
- Use the All viewers tab on the right to see who has viewed the document. You'll see their name and when they last viewed it.
By default, it will say “Editing.” Click this menu, and you'll see three options – Editing, Suggesting, and Viewing. Select the middle one. By accessing the Suggesting mode, you've successfully activated the Google Docs version of Track Changes.
