It obviously worked for her; here’s how to make it work for you! Gentle readers, I present the nicest Lily perfumes this Author has tested.
Disclaimer: This Author is no perfume aficionado, but just a simp for a good enemies to lovers story with too much time on her hands. Do try not to hold it against me.
To begin, the most unattractive perfumes…
Maison Margiela: Lazy Sunday Morning and Springtime in a Park
Simply put, dear readers, these were uninspiring. Lazy Sunday Morning, of “soft skin” and the “scent of linens”, was sadly artificial. Springtime in a Park, seemingly a promising backdrop to a promenade with the elder Miss Sharma, was far too sweet for her tastes, and indeed for mine.
Maison Francis Kurkdjian: Aqua Universalis
Only slightly better than the last. If you’re looking for a scent so delicate you will indeed smell like nothing, then perhaps invest here.
However, Lily perfumes that are more worth the ton’s attention are as follows…
Korres: Black Sugar
This was a scent of note, albeit akin to walking through an overcrowded flower bed. If you’d like to make an impression, I certainly can’t protest.
Le Labo: Lys 41
A lovely floral bouquet of scents, sweet enough to turn the heads of many delightful suitors (though perhaps, not the Viscount). This author, if you allow her speculation, would not be surprised to find this scent adorning the younger Miss Sharma, instead.
Despite these dalliances, we can trust the Lady of the hour to be as discerning in scents as in suitors. Thus, to the Lily perfumes worthy of the new Viscountess…
Frédéric Malle: Lys Méditerranée
This fragrance would certainly suit as a darker, more captivating scent. This author could see how a Rake (capital R) such as the Viscount Bridgerton would be driven to distraction by this refreshing perfume.
Comme des Garçons: Lily
Behold, the number one. While uncreatively named, this would no doubt be favourable to the elder Miss Sharma. As she is so often described as scented with lilies and soap, a rather… practical combination, this airy perfume would suit her unique taste. It reminds this author of linens while maintaining a floral sweetness, and if there ever was a scent to make a man lean closer on the dance floor, this perhaps would be it.
Gentle readers, I am thus satisfied with the resolution of this intriguing affair. Whether you choose to indulge in these perfumes or not, your author must admit to a respect for Kate Sharma; she is, among many things, a woman of great scents.
