With Fallout 76 adding new romance options to the game, first in an update and now in the Season 16 launch, players are now able to romance three characters in the game. While romance options are an important part of any RPG and have been an important aspect of the Fallout franchise, Fallout 76 did not originally allow players to romance their allies. This is due, in part, to the fact that there initially were no NPC allies in the game, but Bethesda reintroduced NPCs with the Wastelanders update and the ability to romance these characters.
Romancing a character has practical benefits along with story significance. Players will receive a 15% experience boost and a Lover's Embrace buff to their character for a time as a result of engaging in a romantic relationship. The two original romance options in Fallout 76 as of the Wastelanders update are Beckett, the lovable rogue type and a recovering addict, and Commander Sofia Daguerre, a former astronaut who reentered Earth's atmosphere just in time to witness the apocalypse. Additionally, with the Season 16 launch, players can now romance an Assaultron named Adelaide.

How To Unlock & Find New Romance Options In Fallout 76
An Assaultron For Companionship
The new Duel with the Devil is the new Season 16 content that provided Fallout 76 players with Adelaide. She is unlockable through Season 16, and she is not found until the fifth page, meaning rank 30 is the earliest they can unlock her. Adelaide costs 50 tickets to unlock once players have reached her, which makes her one of the pricier options for this Season.
This is also the first Season to feature a season pass and ticket-based system, as opposed to the previous Scoreboard system. Of note, Season 16 runs through June 2024.
Adelaide is one of many Assaultrons in Fallout 76, but she does identify as female and is dressed in female-coded attire. She is also quite sassy and has a saucy personality to match. You can see a full showcase of her personality and features in Angry Turtle's YouTube video. She is a performer who ran away after fearing she killed someone unknowingly and thinks it will happen again. She does not remember her backstory or why she was named Adelaide, but you may find out more as more about her is uncovered.
Like the other companions, she will have to be found in-game after she's unlocked. She can be found in the Expedition to Atlantic City in the basem*nt of the Neapolitan Casino. Look around for a note on the ground and bring it to her to start her quest. Now, players will have to pass a speech test, which unlocks the option to romance her, and it will also be possible to take her back to the camp as a permanent companion.

As well as the usual Romance boosts, Adelaide will provide a daily buff to reduce 25% damage taken from robots and a 15% damage boost when fighting other robots, which lasts an hour. This will allow players to have extra boosts against other Assaultrons and give your base one more companion. Like other romance options, you may have to slot her in and out, but if you find yourself fighting many robots, she is well worth keeping in the primary slot.
Other types of allies can be slotted into a different slot, but only one ally can occupy a certain slot at a time. Unfortunately, all romance options have to compete for the same slot.
How To Find Beckett & Daguerre In Fallout 76
Searching For Companions
Out of all the changes in Fallout 76 since launch, the romance system is simple but highly desired. To get to the romance options, players need to first find Beckett and Commander Daguerre. There are several other allies scattered around the map, but only these two can be romanced right now. For players looking to add romance to their game, here is how to find Beckett and Commander Daguerre.
Beckett is located at the Rollins Labor Camp in the southwest region of the map. He can be found inside the prison after the player dispatches the Blood Eagles. The player will need to help him escape the prison and find his belongings at Sludge Works to convince him to become an ally. You will learn that Beckett himself was a former Blood Eagle, but he wants to move on from that lifestyle and make a new way forward.

First, retrieve his keys to his cell which is on the top floor, but the keys will trigger the alarm system. However, if you avoid the enemies, you can return to his cell and free him. After that, he will ask you to go to Sludge Works and retrieve his belongings, after which he can be invited back to camp. You will need to build him a bar back at camp. He will give the player more ally quests once at the camp, asking them to help him take down the Blood Eagles.
Commander Daguerre is located in The Mire on the northeast side of the map at the bottom of a cliff at the East Ridge Lookout. She sends a distress signal the player can pick up when they are in the vicinity as long as they have reached level 20.
You will need to find her crashed ship and download data for her, and then you will need to find a robot lost in The Mire. Upon completing both quests, players can invite Commander Daguerre to come to camp and get her there by building her a USSA Console.
Both allies will always remain at camp and cannot join the player on their personal loyalty quests. Both will also have more side quests once they are at the camp. Both allies can be recruited, but only one can be active at your camp right now. Players can switch between them by scrapping the bar or the USSA Console and building the other.
How To Romance Beckett & Dagurre In Fallout 76
Choosing The Flirt Option
To romance either of the NPCs in Fallout 76, after recruiting them to camp, players need to complete some of their personal quests and talk to them, asking questions to get to know them better. After completing some missions, players will see new dialogue options with [Flirt] beside them. Selecting these options can trigger a romance with the character. Generally, as in other Fallout games, the more a player gets to know the NPC and help them with their personal quests, the more and deeper dialogue options they will unlock.
Fallout 76 is available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Xbox S|X.
Players may be slightly disappointed to find, however, that both Beckett and Daguerre will always reciprocate the player's feelings, and the romances are as straightforward as always choosing the dialogue option with the [Flirt] designation. Upon completing the related ally quests, players will receive a three-star weapon from both Beckett and Daguerre in Fallout 76.
