Make these gorgeous and simple Dollar Tree Valentines Day crafts in 2024. These crafts are all beginner friendly and super inexpensive. Most of these designs can be used throughout the year even when it is not Valentines Day.
I love making Valentine’s Day decorations with items from the Dollar Tree because they are super inexpensive. These Dollar Tree Valentine crafts are simple to make and most of them use re-purposed items. Valentines Day is a great time to keep it simple but also make nice decor that will last from year to year.
And if you aren’t a fan of changing decor out each season you will appreciate that several of these crafts can be used at other times of the year just by choosing more neutral colors.
I have included a video tutorial for you to watch on how to make these 7 easy but beautiful Valentines Day crafts. But you can see what projects are included below and maybe get an idea if any of these Valentine crafts are something you would want to make yourself.

1. Yarn Heart Wreath
Supplies Needed for this Yarn Heart Wreath
- Chunky Chenille Yarn (Size 7)
- Foam Heart Form
- Hot Glue and Glue Sticks
- Scissors
- Ribbon
To make this very easy yarn heart wreath. Cut off a 100″ piece of yarn. Hot glue one of the ends on the point of your heart form. Now just wrap the yarn around the wreath form and glue onto the wreath form as you wrap. Continue wrapping the yarn around the wreath form and gluing as you do.
If you need any additional yarn just cut extra lengths of yarn. When you get to the end of your wreath form cut off any extra yarn and hot glue the other end into the yarn that is wrapped around the form.
IT’s so simple but so beautiful!
2. Yarn Heart Pillow Craft
This craft is even easier than the first. Just take a pillow case you maybe already have on hand. I had a lot of these plain pillow case so I decided to turn one of them into a Valentine’s Day pillow. Hobby Lobby sells these for really low prices.
Supplies Needed for this heart pillow craft:
- Blank Pillow case
- Dollar Tree Nautical Rope
- Hot Glue and Glue Sticks
- Scissors
- Chenille Yarn
Sketch a heart shape on your pillow case with a marking pencil. Then just hot glue the yarn or nautical rope in the shape of a heart on the pillow. Easy peasy and cute for Valentine’s Day!
3. Pom Pom Banner
I love this next Dollar Tree Valentine’s Day craft, but we actually use it year round in my daughter’s bedroom. This cute little pom pom banner takes a little bit of time but is great to make while listening to one of your favorite podcasts.
Here’s the supplies needed for this Dollar Tree pom pom banner craft
- Dollar Tree Styrofoam balls
- Scraps of Fabric
- Toothpick
- Scissors
- Twine
Start with the Dollar Tree styrofoam balls and a piece of scrap fabric. I used an old bridesmaid dress. It had beautiful fabric but I didn’t think I would ever wear the dress again. Cut the fabric into 1-2″ squares. I found it easiest to cut 1-2″ strips of fabric. Then I cut the strips into 1″-1″ squares. Once you have a good amount of squares you are ready for your project.
Take a toothpick and push the center of the square into the styrofoam ball. Place the next square right next to the first and continue this until the entire styrofoam ball is covered with the fabric. Pretty soon you will see these beautiful little pom poms forming. They are so cute!
4. Ribbon Valentine Wreath
This ribbon wreath’s is one of my favorite to use. I have a full tutorial with written instructions here: Ribbon Wreath Tutorial. But today I just dressed up this ribbon wreath for Valentine’s Day. I used this red and white wreath for Christmas and then I just added a coordinating ribbon and wood heart to the center of the ribbon wreath.
Supplies Needed for the Ribbon Valentine Wreath:
- Ribbon (2″ x 15 yds, color or texture you like)
- Dollar Tree Wire Wreath Form
- Coordinating Strip of Ribbon in a different color
- Wood Heart
- Floral Wire
- Scissors
- Twine
This wreath in total takes about 1 hour to make but it is a very nice quality wreath and can be left up year round with or without the heart.
5. Mason Jar Gnome Craft
If you like gnomes and have some mason jars laying around then you can make this next Valentine’s Day craft. I started by covering my mason jar with a sock from the Dollar Tree. I hot glued it around the inside edge. Then I hot glue some faux fur and a wooden nose on top of the sock.
Here’s the supplies needed for the Gnome Mason Jar Craft:
- Gnome Pattern
- Mason Jar
- Sock or Other Fabric
- Felt or Fabric for Hat
- Wooden Nose
- Faux Fur
- Hot Glue and Glue Sticks
- Scissors
I filled the mason jar with lotion and little gifts for my friend.
Then I cut out the gnome hat and filled it with some poly fil. Hot glue the gnome hat onto the mason jar lid. I allowed some of the fabric to drape below the lid so that when the lid was fastened on the top of the jar there wouldn’t be a gap between the hat and the nose and beard.
These are such a cute set of jars. And they are an easy and inexpensive Valentine’s Day gift for anyone because you can fill the jar with candy or whatever you wish.
6. Embroidery Hoop Valentine’s Decor
This cute embroidery frame is a simple Valentine’s Day decoration that can be used year round. Its neutral colors and subtle look make it fit in with almost any season.
Here’s the supplies needed for this embroidery hoop craft:
- Embroidery Hoop
- Antiquing Wax
- Fabric
- Ribbon or lace
- Scissors
- Buttons
- Leather
- Hot glue gun and gluesticks
To make this little hoop I started by staining the hoop with antiquing wax the outside of the hoop. I used an old sweater to fill the loop. Then I used lace and cut out a little leather heart. I hot glued two buttons and we had a beautiful little embroidery hope decoration.
So sweet and so simple. If you don’t have an embroidery hoops on hand the Dollar Tree does sell them as well.
7. Wooden Heart Sign
Here’s the supplies you need for this wooden heart sign:
- Old Cupboard Door
- 3 Wood Hearts
- Chalk paint & paint brush
- Wood Glue
- Hanging
With this next craft I started with some of the Dollar Tree conversation hearts. I rubbed off the paper with water and a washcloth. Then I painted over the hearts with white chalk paint. I added them to an old cupboard door with some wood glue and let them sit over night.
I have three daughters so my idea was to add hooks to each of the hearts and use it as a way to hang their coats when they come inside. This is another craft that could be used throughout the year but also adds a special touch for Valentine’s Day.
I hope you enjoyed these Dollar Tree Valentines Day crafts repurposed from other items. Let me know in the comments below if you will be trying any of them or if you had an idea of your own.
Take care and God bless!
