A young man was madly in love with a lady. The guy had a charming personality, but was also struggling financially. The lady met the guy through a random post on Instagram, and they started their love affair from there. They got along so well that a day would not pass without speaking to each other. The lady eventually introduced the guy to her family, and they all loved his humble and respectful attributes.

Before the lady’s father died, he willed his properties to his family (wife and children). Part of the assets he willed to the family was N50 million cash, which the family agreed to keep in the lady’s account. Six months had passed since they started dating, and she never told him about the money. She wanted to be sure the guy loved her, and was interested in a serious commitment between them.

Out of joy, during one of their outings, the lady let the cat out of the bag and told the guy about the inheritance the family got from her father. The guy was happy for her and said nothing else about it until she got home, and the guy started disturbing her with calls and several messages. He told the lady to sponsor him to the UK with the money, so that they can both build a life from there.

She told the guy that the decision may not work, since the money was jointly owned. But the guy kept begging her, saying that she was her only hope and that he would never leave her if she rendered him this favour. Although she’s so much in love with the guy, she's confused if the guy is a gold digger or is truly in love with her.

Valentine's Day is just a few days away. It's the time when people express love and affection to their partner, friends, and family, through giving gifts or simply expressing love and gratitude to a loved one.

It can however be difficult to know for certain if someone is dating you for your money, as people's motivations are complex and often hidden. Here are a few signs that may indicate that someone is more interested in your wealth than in you as a person:

  1. They constantly ask for expensive gifts or activities: If your partner constantly wants to go to high-end restaurants or expensive vacations, and always seems to expect lavish gifts, it could be a sign they are with you for your money.

2 . They never offer to pay for anything: If your partner never offers to split the bill, pay for anything or contribute to shared expenses, it could be a sign they are not invested in the relationship for the right reasons.

3 . They never talk about their own financial situation: If your partner never talks about their own financial situation, job or future plans, it could indicate they are not interested in building a life with you, but rather just enjoying the perks of your money.

To prevent someone from using you because of your money, consider setting boundaries and discussing your financial expectations early on in the relationship. It’s also important to be mindful of your own behaviour and avoid falling into the trap of buying love and affection.

Look for a partner who shares your values and has a similar lifestyle to yours, rather than someone who is solely focused on material things.

Focus on building a strong emotional connection with your partner rather than relying on material things to sustain the relationship.

Remember, a healthy relationship is built on mutual respect, trust and genuine love. If you suspect your partner is only with you for your money, it's important to have an honest conversation with them and reassess the future of the relationship.

The second point is THERE IS LOVE when the two parties involve understand themselves , know the interest of the second party , know the dos and don'ts of the other party , ready to go at length with the other party. AGAPE LOVE is what I am talking about and not he kind of love WHEREBY A WEALTH OR RICH MAN pikins marry each other ...Where and where did they met...just a mere introduction ... and you expect good things or the relationship to last...this is just HOLLYWOOD MARRIAGE or can I just say NOLLYWOOD . A drama affairs which is going to bring pains and regret later in future and can easily wipe the whole families out of the earth with a just blink of the eyes LOVE IS NOT BUYABLE NOT TO TALK OF PURCHASABLE...Love must be inborn.......and not SELLABLE. Please open your eyes and make use of what LORD GOD ALMIGHTY have endowed into your life, kindly forget about another person's wealth and struggle for your own.

THE GOLD DIGGERS...huuummmm....a lots of experience s on this good topic and there are so many areas I need to talk about this. Firstly it is on both sides of the coins, it is either the parents of the lady is wealthy and stinkingly rich and highly famous in the society and the man or the guy is only having his interest on the wealth of the lady's family. The best is to soft pedal and go slowly, exposing your identity too much to the other party is very dangerous especially if their interest or their passion is highly divided. A game of slow motion is good, stay mute and refused to talk, What i mean is that whether you are a man or a woman and you are very lucky to mistakenly come across richness through hereditary. You must be very careful in as much as you are not the real owner of that wealth. Please i advise both the lady and guys of nowadays to struggle for their respective daily bread and forget about your lady's parents wealth or your guy's parents wealth. What is going to be yours must surely be yours, running after a lady or rich guy is very dangerous not to talk of a wealth that was passed to you. The words of our elders.
