You can request a free ‘proof of posting’ at a Collect+ store or Post Office when you hand over your letter or parcel for posting.
You can also obtain a digital proof of posting on the Royal Mail App.
Available for any prepaid postage, this is a really helpful feature giving extra reassurance when dropping off an eligible item in a Parcel Postbox/ Post box where previously you did not receive a proof of posting.
Your proof of postingwill only be provided in the App once your item has been scanned by us on its journey. We aim to provide proof of postingon the app for all applicable items, but there are rare occasions when an item is not scanned before it is delivered and a proof of postingwill not be provided on those occasions.
Once you have received the proof of postingin the App, it acts in the same way as a proof of postingor stamped certificate of postingreceived in a Post Office branch or a Royal Mail Customer Service Point.
To use this service simply go to your app home screen, tap Other services > Proof of postage.Tap Add proof of postage and follow the steps through according to which channel you bought your postage through.
For items where you want to ensure you will receive a proof of posting you can choose to drop off your item at a Collect+ store, Post Office branch or Royal Mail Customer Service Point and get your certificate of posting stamped. You can also use the app to take a photo and store your paper proof of postage in the “Paper Receipts” section of the app.
