How to clean your washing machine's filter

- Locate the filter. Consult your washing machine's manual to find thelocation of the filter. On a Beko model, the filter is housed behind a flapon the front of the machine.
- Turn off the machine. Make sure the machine is switched off and unpluggedfrom the power source.
- Put a towel down. Place a towel or similar item in front of the filter toprotect the floor. Have a container to hand to catch any water that leaksout when you remove the pump filter.
- Remove the emergency drain hose. Some models will have an emergency drainhose located next to the filter. Pull the drainage hose out and remove thestopper. Once this is removed, drain the water into a container beforerefitting the stopper and placing the drainage hose back.
- Remove the filter. Depending on the model of your washing machine, you mayneed to unscrew the filter or simply pull it out. The filter can be removedon Beko models by opening the flap and rotating the filter anti-clockwise.
- Clean the filter. Use a soft-bristled brush or cloth to remove any debrisfrom the filter. Once the filter is clean, replace it in its originallocation and secure it in place.
- Turn the machine back on. Plug the machine back in and turn it on to ensureit's working correctly.
