Add Apple Card to your iPhone

Contact your card issuer to see if they support Apple Pay. Update to the latest version of iOS, watchOS, macOS, or visionOS. Confirm that you have Face ID, Touch ID, Optic ID, or a passcode set on your device. Make sure that you are in a supported country or region.

On your iPhone, open the Wallet app. Tap Add Card, then Follow the steps to select Apple Card. If you're asked to add the card that you use with your Apple ID, cards on other devices, or cards that you've recently removed, choose Apple Card.

The truth is you can't directly add an Apple gift card to an Apple wallet except for other gift cards like Visa and Mastercard; the option you have is to redeem your Apple gift card to your Apple account.
