    I think SMART interviewing objective is a great way to add value to the process. We are all aware what each one stands in acronym we are referring to ! Primarily the objective of interviewing a candidate should be objective and specific to the skillset we are hiring for. Just as an example if we are looking for Java developers and candidate profile talks about cricket as a hobby, I would not want to ask him/her about coverdrive shot obviously. It is imperative that the interviewer does his homework before even showing up for a discussion. It is important to have open-ended questions and narrow it down to some of the specific responses as to what's their contribution to the overall project/product & how does it panout in the overall picture.

    Please note the SMART approach should be used as a framework and guideline. Be mindful not to sound like a robot. Coming across as commercially astute, genuine and staying connected with the interviewer is just as important as delivery.Remember its a conversation so stay curious and do not be afraid to ask the interviewer questions. Its all about building rapport and making sure you have left a memorable and positive impact.If you dont get the job. Make sure you ask for feedback because that's how you learn, grow and develop. Not securing that job you was hoping for sometimes is a blessing in disguise as there might just be something better for you just right around the corner, so lets stay positive and keep it moving.

    In my experience, having a competency framework including the required core competencies with specified behavior reference for every level, and these behaviors reflecting the requirements from every level in the organization which helps in achieving its goals, in addition to having a technical competency with a predetermined framework and rating for each competency type, level, and behavior and the questions be direct to the point.Furthermore, I think assessing your performance in the interviews and the used questions and following the technical manager's feedback on the hired candidate during the probation period can help enhance your interviews.
