1 Understand the types of featured snippets
There are three main types of featured snippets: paragraphs, lists, and tables. Each type corresponds to a different kind of query and requires a different format of content. Paragraph snippets answer questions that start with how, why, what, who, or when. List snippets show a series of steps, items, or tips. Table snippets display data, prices, or comparisons. To create content for featured snippets, you need to identify the type of snippet that matches your target keyword and query intent.

The paragraph makes a claim that featured snippets can boost "authority" and "credibility." While it's true that being featured in a snippet can enhance a website's visibility and perceived authority, it's essential to note that the snippet's content must be accurate and trustworthy. Simply appearing in a featured snippet doesn't automatically confer credibility.

2 Use clear and concise language
Google's algorithm favors content that is easy to read, understand, and scan. To create content for featured snippets, you need to use clear and concise language that answers the user's query directly and accurately. Avoid jargon, fluff, and unnecessary details. Use short sentences, simple words, and active voice. Break up your content into paragraphs, headings, and subheadings. Use formatting tools like bold, italics, and quotes to emphasize key points.

Featured snippets often answer specific questions that users frequently ask. Use keyword research and tools like "People Also Ask" on Google to identify common questions related to your topic.

3 Structure your content with HTML tags
Google uses HTML tags to identify and extract the relevant parts of your content for featured snippets. To create content for featured snippets, you need to structure your content with HTML tags that match the type of snippet you want to rank for. For paragraph snippets, use <p> tags and include your target keyword and query in the first sentence. For list snippets, use <ol> or <ul> tags and make each item clear and consistent. For table snippets, use <table> tags and label your rows and columns.

if I am an SEO novice, I would be confused with this paragraph, something easier to be understand: To have a better shot at getting your content in those boxes:- For regular text sections, use markers like <p> and try to mention your main topic right at the start.- For lists, use markers like <ol> (for numbered lists) or <ul> (for bullet points). Make sure each item in the list is easy to understand.- For tables, use markers like <table> and clearly label the rows and columns.Think of these markers as labels on boxes; they help Google know what's inside.

4 Provide additional information and context
Google's goal is to provide the best answer to the user's query, not the shortest. To create content for featured snippets, you need to provide additional information and context that adds value and relevance to your content. Don't stop at the basic answer, but expand on it with examples, facts, explanations, or suggestions. Use transition words like however, therefore, or moreover to connect your ideas and create a logical flow. Use <h2> or <h3> tags to introduce new sections or subtopics.

5 Add images and videos
Images and videos can enhance your content for featured snippets by making it more engaging, visual, and informative. Google sometimes displays images or videos along with the text snippet, or as a standalone snippet. To create content for featured snippets, you need to add images and videos that support your content and answer the user's query. Use relevant and high-quality images and videos that match your brand and tone. Use <img> or <video> tags and optimize your alt text and captions with keywords.

6 Monitor and measure your performance
Creating content for featured snippets is not a one-time task, but an ongoing process. Google constantly updates its algorithm and search results, and your competitors may also try to outrank you for the same snippets. To create content for featured snippets, you need to monitor and measure your performance and make adjustments as needed. Use tools like Google Search Console, Google Analytics, or third-party tools to track your impressions, clicks, rankings, and conversions for your target snippets. Analyze your data and identify your strengths and weaknesses. Test different variations of your content and see what works best.

It's normal for Google to rotate who appears in a Featured Snippet. Google uses a lot of click data (we don't have access to this) and will rotate to ensure the best result for users is shown, and this isn't always the most "SEO'd" option.

I won 60+ featured snippets for high-volume keywords in ecommerce niche (bedding and mattress). My strategy was:-Analyze the results you get for a query (that must be in featured snippet results)-Count no of words (must be between 45-60 words)-Open and check if they're under any heading, between 2 paragraphs, image or whatever. (talking not for list results)-Based on your analyses, try to lesser few words and answer the query, use the same strategy {I mean where you get the result, is it under heading, image, b/w paragraphs or whatever}, do the same but add some stats, figures, facts, dates, sections, what is relevant to the result.-Request for reindexing on GSC-Wait for it...Good luck
