Windows 11
- Click the wifi icon in the system tray.
- Click the arrow to the right of the wifi icon.
- If you are already connected to the wifi network, click 'Disconnect'. Otherwise, select the network from the available list.
- Untick 'Connect automatically'.
Windows 10
- Click the wifi icon in the system tray.
- If you are already connected to the wifi network, click 'Disconnect'. Otherwise, select the network available from the list.
- Untick 'Connect automatically'.
macOS
- Click the Apple menu on the top left of the screen,then select 'System Preferences'.
- Select 'Network'.
- Select the 'Wi-Fi' option and choose the wifi network you want to modify from the 'Network Name' drop down.
- Untick 'Automatically join this network'.
iOS/iPadOS
- Open 'Settings'.
- Tap 'Wi-Fi'.
- Select the wifi network you are currently connected to.
- Switch off the 'Auto-Join' setting.
If you want your device to stop asking you to connect to a network you haven't used before:
- in the 'Wi-Fi' menu, tap 'Ask to Join Networks'.
- Select 'Off'.
Android
- Open 'Settings'.
- Tap 'Network & internet'.
- Tap on the wifi network you want to turn off auto-connect for.
- Tap 'Advanced'.
- Turn off 'Auto-connect'.
Linux (Ubuntu)
- Open 'Network Manager'.
- Click your wifi connection, then select the 'Settings' icon.
- Uncheck the box 'Connect automatically'.
