To map a network drive to your PC you will either need to be on campus and connected to CampusNet or if you are off-campus using the VPN.
Open File Explorer
SelectThis PCfrom the left-hand side of the window.
Click on theComputertab that has appeared and selectMap network drive.
In theDrivelist, select the letter you want to map to and in theFolderbox, type the address of the drive you are trying to access. There are:
Drive
Network path
Drive purpose
Y:
\\mydata.rhul.ac.uk\home
Your personal files
W:
\\myweb.rhul.ac.uk\home_pages
Personal webspace
PressFinish.
You will be prompted to enter your username and password. Your username is four letters and three numbers (e.g. abcd123). This will map your drive.
Please note some computers will require you to add a domain before your username. If you have been unable to log in, please addcc\before your username (e.g.cc\abcd123) and try again.

Open File Explorer from the taskbar or the Start menu, or press the Windows logo key + E.Select This PC from the left pane.Then, on the Computer tab, select Map network drive.
Press Windows key + R or open the Start menu, then type in cmd /k net use and press Enter.
There will be a list produced with drive letters and file paths in it. Look for the letter which matches the letter assigned to the drive in Windows File Explorer.

Choose your mode of transportation. To get driving directions, tap Driving . To get transit directions, tap Transit . To get walking directions, tap Walking . To get rideshare or taxi options, tap Ride .
“Net use” is a command line method of mapping network drives to your local computer. The full syntax for net use is available from Microsoft . The Username and Password parameters are only required if the computer is not CornellAD joined.
Right-click on This PC (it's probably on your desktop, but you can access it from the File Manager, as well). Click on Manage and Management window will show up. Go to Disk Management. Find your second hard disk drive, right-click on it and go to Change Drive Letter and Paths.
In the Command Prompt, type net use and press 'Enter' to run the command. The output will list the local drive letter under the 'Local' column and UNC path under the 'Remote' column for each network resource that has been mapped to that instrument.
Mapped network drives mount or attach a folder shared from another system to an available drive letter on the local system. In other words, a shared Sales folder could be attached to the S: drive on your local Windows computer, and a shared Marketing folder could be mapped to the M: drive.
Set Folder and Drive Permissions:Right-click on the C drive or the specific folder you want to share. Choose "Properties," then go to the "Sharing" tab. Click on "Advanced Sharing..."Check the box that says "Share this folder" and customize the permissions by clicking on the "Permissions" button.
