Honkai Star Rail 2.5 Leaks Bring Promising Updates On New Banner Type (2024)

There are promising updates on the new banner type in Honkai: Star Rail 2.5, according to fresh leaks about the rumored addition to the gacha system. Version 2.5 is set to arrive within just a few weeks if the regular six-week schedule does not suffer any delays. The patch will see the continuation of the story arc on the Xianzhou Luofu, as well as the introduction of the character banners in Honkai: Star Rail 2.5, which will include three new playable characters in addition to several rerun units – and, possibly, even a new banner type.

Players May Be Able To Pull For Three Characters & Their Light Cones

If this is true, then players will be able to choose from one out of six 5-star options with this rumored banner type. Not only would players have a diverse roster of characters to choose from, but they would also have the opportunity to grab their respective signature Light Cones, which often tend to be the best-in-slot for each character. As such, players who already have Kafka, for instance, but missed the chance at her Light Cone, may finally get a chance at completing Kafka’s build in Honkai: Star Rail.

The same can be said about Black Swan and Robin, rumored to be the two other 5-star characters featured in the leaked banner. Of course, this rumored rerun banner system could also serve as an opportunity for players to increase the Eidolon levels of characters they have already previously acquired. Another important aspect of the leak is that there are mentions of pity being transferred forward.

If not, this pity should be pushed ahead to the next time a banner of this rerun structure appears – and, so far, leaks indicate this will not occur in Phase 2 of Version 2.5, meaning players may have to wait an entire update or more to see their accumulated pity back into action. Nevertheless, like the rumors of the Light Cones in the loot pool, the leaks about the pity being transferred are also good, as they show the developer’s intentions of making older characters promptly available, even if they do not have their own dedicated rerun banners.

These leaks should be taken with a grain of salt, as a lot of the information may be incorrect or subject to change. However, with the game’s ever-expanding roster, the early implementation should help the title avoid problems like characters being absent from rerun banners for months or years.
