“I am confident this approach will work, based on experience, but before we decide on our plan of action, I want to know your thoughts. Each of you sees the issue from a unique perspective, so let’s discuss. I want to hear your ideas and concerns. You may be seeing things I don’t see, and, collectively, we may end up with a better solution.”
Have you ever been in a meeting with a leader who said something like that?
Do you feel confident in their leadership? Are you also drawn by their humility?
Leaders who truly make a difference need both confidence and humility. Too much confidence, and a leader is perceived as self-centered and egotistical. Too much humility, and a leader is perceived as weak and ineffective.
The world needs strong, balanced leaders.
How do you achieve this balance?
Take some time to listen to this podcast on the subject. You’ll learn some great tips for creating this kind of balance in your leadership. And you’ll also want to check out Tim Elmore’s book calledEight Paradoxes of Great Leadership.
Be confident AND be humble.

Because I am humble, I am confident, for I know that I need a supporting hand to help me across my steppingstones. I humble enough to know that I need God, friends, mentors, and a team to help me live a confident life.
