Gypsy Rose Blanchard celebrated her 33rd birthday on July 27, and coincidentally, photos of her late mother, Claudine "Dee Dee" Blanchard's crime scene, began circulating on social media nine years after her death.
The images caused a stir on social as many wondered about the reason behind the renewed virality of the photos on Gypsy's birthday.
More interestingly, the images were obtained from a link, reportedly taken from the Patreon owned by a blogger who was involved in a legal tussle with Gypsy Rose Blanchard.
Late Dee Dee Blanchard's Crime Scene Photos Spread Like Wildfire On Gypsy Rose Blanchard's 33rd Birthday
Netizens were left stunned on Saturday as brutal crime scene photos of the late Dee Dee Blanchard went viral online on the same day as her daughter's birthday.
The images were all sourced from an initially mysterious Google Drive link, which has now been revealed to be owned by the blogger April Johns, also known as Fancy Macelli.
Johns has spoken up about the link, clarifying in a TikTok video that the photos were not a "leak," as some people believed and that they have actually been available to the public since nine years ago.
She said, "The link that's going out to a drive is my files. Yes, it came from my Patreon. Nice of you all to take it out of there and then spread it all over the place."
"Those documents, those crime scene photos, they have been public for the last nine years," Johns added. "Anyone could have put a FOIA at any freaking time they wanted to and gotten those photos."
In another TikTok video, she clarified that she was "not responsible" for putting out the link on Gypsy's birthday, saying, "We have had it out there for a very, very long time. It's been all over Facebook, it's been all over Reddit for years and years and years."
Gypsy Rose Blanchard Filed A Lawsuit Against April Johns
Gypsy and Johns have a history, as the pair were involved in a legal battle after their media partnership fell apart.
The ex-convict, along with her father, Rod, stepmother Kristy, and stepsister Mia, filed a lawsuit against Johns, alleging defamation, fraud, breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and false light.
According to court documents obtained by USA Today, the lawsuit stated that Gypsy's parents first met Johns in 2017 while Gypsy was serving a 10-year prison sentence for the murder of her mother, Dee Dee.
Johns, who owns Mad Ginger Entertainment, allegedly portrayed herself as an "up and coming producer" and proposed creating media projects about Blanchard's life and case.
In late 2017, Blanchard and her parents signed a "Life Rights Option Agreement" with Johns, which granted her access to evidence from the murder case, including crime scene photos, police videos, and Gypsy's private medical records.
Why Gypsy Rose Blanchard Severed Ties With April Johns
The documents stated that "For the next two plus years, plaintiffs Gypsy, Rod and Kristy diligently worked with defendant Johns/Macelli. They had countless conversations and interviews with her regarding their lives and the circumstances of the murder."
It added, "During this time, Johns/Macelli purported to be skilled and experienced enough to perform her side of the contract."
However, the relationship between both parties began to sour as Johns failed to produce any marketable content for Gypsy, and the blogger also allegedly became "confrontational over Gypsy's relationship with her fiancée Ken."
These issues led the Blanchard family to sever ties with the producer in 2019.
Things Got Heated Between Both Parties After Ending Their Media Partnership
After the Blanchard family severed ties with Johns, things took a turn for the worse between both parties.
According to court documents obtained by Radar Online, the family claimed that in a February 2024 live YouTube video, Johns, who referred to herself as "the leading expert on the Gypsy Rose Blanchard case," called Gypsy a "dangerous frickin person" and "a deviant," and used derogatory language, stating, "F-ck you b-tch," and, "I'm gonna bring you down tonight."
The lawsuit alleged that Johns had multiple social media accounts suspended but "continued to thwart attempts by various platforms to remove her offending content."
The family claimed that the blogger continued to create and profit from content across various social media and streaming platforms, including posts, comments, videos, podcasts, and interviews.
Johns, for her part, reportedly claimed that the family "stalked" her and encouraged others to harass her. However, the Blanchard family denied these accusations.
The lawsuit was eventually dismissed by a Missouri court, according to Radar, as the "venue is not proper in Livingston County." This meant the judge who presided over the case felt it was filed in the wrong location.

Since the case with Johns was dismissed by a court, Gypsy has not seemed to make any further attempts to sue the blogger.
The ex-convict, however, has more positive things to look forward to in her life. She recently announced that she and her fiancé, Ken Urker, are expecting their first child together.
Gypsy wrote on Instagram, "We are proud to announce we are expecting our first child in January 2025."
The post included stunning photos of a happy-looking Gypsy and Urker posing for the cameras while holding a sonogram and a tiny baby sweater.
