Guide: How to knock people out for Assassin's Creed Odyssey's Atlantis DLC (2024)
You may have forgotten
Knocking enemies out is a big part of the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: Fate of AtlantisDLC (I won’t spoil exactly why here), and odds are a lot of you are coming out of a lengthy hiatus, having completely forgotten how to do the job.
Here’s a few different approaches.
Your fists
This is by far the easiest way to knock out an enemy without killing them. Unequip one of your weapon slots using the inventory menu, then swap to your fists with the d-pad. Relentlessly attack your quarry until they’re knocked out. Alternatively you can damage them using other means then change to your fists and finish the job.
Just be sure there are no damage-over-time (poison, fire) effects on them, otherwise they’ll die.
By bow
At this point you’ll have the opportunity to invest in alternate arrows in the hunter skill tree. It’s right there on the second tier listed as “Arrow Master,” just select it once and you’re good.
To craft arrows you’ll want to go to the bag near your bow slot in the inventory menu and create away. You’re aiming for paralyzing arrows.
By way of stealth
After getting behind an enemy quietly, you can press L3 to initiate a knockout instead of a stealth kill. Note that you need to be able to do it in one go, and even at a high level the AtlantisDLC enemies might shrug it off, making it the least likely scenario.
You can actually see how much health a stealth kill attempt will chip away, so if needed you can go for the “kill” strike, then swap to fists and end it non-lethally.

Come close, face target, stay stationary for a second, press E (on keybard). If the target isn't alerted and doesn't have high hitpoints left - you'll knock them out.
The special arrows unlock in stages, as you acquire and upgrade the Arrow Master ability. The first level will unlock paralyzing arrows, the second will add in fire and poison arrows, and the third and final will give you explosive arrows.
This is a simple Tier 1 ability best known for kicking hard enemies off cliffs, killing even the hardest bosses without breaking a sweat, but it works to stun a target, too. The beast will be knocked out, assuming (like the other options) the player is strong enough.
Similar to the Nemesis System, Mercenaries are infinite in number and variety. In addition to its transition into a full-fleged RPG, Assassin's Creed Odyssey is introducing multiple revamped mechanics systems, from its signature naval combat to the ever-changing world of Ancient Greece.
Tier 1 – The highest mercenary tier in the game. Tier S1 – (added with Update 1.1. 2) War Contracts and Bounties provide 35% more XP, Drachmae and Crafting Materials. Tier S2 – (added with Update 1.1.
Instead, you'll have to knock them out in combat. The best way to do this in melee combat is to unequip your weapons and go into the fight unarmed. Make sure you're only facing one animal when you do this! The Spartan Kick also helps a lot, as that's a powerful non-lethal move.
In the in-game inventory menu, go to the 'Abilities' page. Under the 'Hunter' category, there's an option called 'Arrow Master' (icon is an arrow tip). You would need to invest 1 ability point to upgrade, you will gain the ability to have the paralyzing arrows.
