Westfield, Massachusetts Beverly Joan Hartley 1938 — 2024 Beverly Joan Hartley, 86, of Leesburg, FL, died peacefully on May 27, 2024 in Westfield, MA. Born in Batavia, New York, on January 7, 1938, to Hilton B. Steele and Mildred Steele (n?e Bessinger), Bev was instilled with a love for travel, gardening, and education. She went on to earn a master's degree in education at Syracuse University where she met Allan C. Hartley. The two were married in 1962 and eventually moved to Iowa City where they became active in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal movement. Bev deepened her faith and ministry in the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay, where she and Al were active facilitators in a local prayer group. After Al's retirement, the two moved to Leesburg, FL,... A series of falls that on a couple occasions caused broken bones, brought us all back together to the same home we grew up in to have a year and a half family reunion. Second only to her faith, family was Mom's focus and dedication. Six children born with the same strong wills, we had to learn again to have brothers and sisters in our daily lives as we headed down the path to what we assumed would be complete recovery. She was born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin on July 16, 1934, to Elizabeth and Edward Baines. Shirley married Deral Teteak in Madison, WI on Feb. 12, 1955, when she officially became a football wife. Deral and Shirley were blessed with three children, Peter, Lynn and Jack and three grandchildren: Myles (Beth) Teteak, Katey (McClain) Southwell and Benjamin Jones. Shirley also had six great grandchildren. Shirley leaves behind her sister Donna (Dale) Kelley. She was preceded in death by her husband Deral, her son Jack and her sister Patricia (Dick) Hart.
