Pay securely with your phone
No more digging for cards at checkout – just tap and go, knowing that your payments are safely encrypted before, during and after every purchase. When you pay with Google Pay, your real card information is never shared. Instead, an encrypted virtual account number is used to represent your info, so your real card details stay safe. Have control over who can see and use your data in the ‘Privacy Settings’ of your Google Wallet.
In store payments
Google Pay works anywhere contactless payments are accepted. Just wake up your Android phone or smart watch and hold it near the reader until you see a tick mark. You don’t even need to open the app.
In-app and online payments
Use Google Pay to check out even faster on your favourite apps and sites.
Once you’ve added a card to your Google Wallet, you won’t need to enter your payment details again. Just choose Google Pay at checkout, confirm your purchase and you’re done.

Log in and tap 'Cards' from the Quick Links section.
Here you'll see the 'Add to G Pay' button.
To learn more about it, tap here.
To add the selected card on Google Pay, tap the 'Add to G Pay' button.
Read through Barclays terms and conditions and if you're happy, tap 'Accept'.
You'll now need to set up a screen lock on your device if you haven't already.
You may need to verify your card with a one-time passcode sent to you in a text message.
When you receive it, enter the passcode, or for other verification methods, tap 'More options'.
After verification, your card will be set up.
And that's all done.
If you'd like to add the card to Google Pay on any other devices, tap the 'Add to G Pay' button and follow the same process.
Using Google Pay

- Download the Google Wallet app from Google Play
- Launch the Google Wallet app
- Select ‘Add to Google Wallet’
·Select the card you want to add and save it as the ‘Payment card (to make contactless payments)’ - Follow the on-screen instructions
- Verify your card if needed
How to start using ‘tap to pay’
- Open the Google Wallet app
- In the top right-hand corner, tap your profile picture or account icon
- Select ‘Tap to pay setup’
Make sure you’ve
- Turned on near field communication (NFC) in your connections settings
- Set Google Pay as your default payment app
- Added a contactless payment method to your Google Wallet
- Set up a screen lock
You’ll need to do all of these before you can make contactless payments.
How to use ‘tap to pay’
- Make sure you’ve added a payment card to your Google Wallet
- When you’re ready to pay, unlock your phone and hold it near the contactless payment reader
- Wait for your phone to show the tick mark for payment confirmation
How to add a card to your Androidsmart watch
- On your watch, open the Google Wallet app
- Select ‘Get started’
- Set up a lock screen if you haven’t already
- Follow your phone’s instructions to add a credit or debit card
- Your card will now show on your smart watch
Make a payment in a shop on your watch
- Open the Google Wallet app
- Hold your watch over the contactless payment reader until you hear a sound or your watch vibrates

You can find a list of past transactions and activity by tapping on any debit cards that you’ve added to your Google Wallet.
Important:You can only find transactions after you’ve added the card to Google Wallet. For a full history of your card transactions, check your bank statements.
To find activity for a card
- Open the Google Wallet app
- To find the relevant card, you may need to swipe left
- Select your card
- At the bottom, select ‘Details’, then ‘Activity’
- At the top, you can find your most recent action or transaction
If you remove a card, you’ll lose its activity history.

- Open the Google Wallet app
- Find the payment method you want to remove
- Swipe left to browse all cards added to Google Wallet
- Tap the card you want to remove
- In the top right-hand corner, tap ‘More’
- Select ‘Remove payment method’

To tap and pay with cards that aren’t your default card
- Open the Google Wallet app
- At the top, swipe left until you find the card you want to use
- Hold the back of your phone against the contactless payment reader

Eligibility
- Google Pay is available to Personal, Premier, Wealth and Business Banking customers who have a Barclays debit card.
- Terms and conditions apply. You need to have a current account with us and a mobile phone number to use the Barclays app. You need to be at least 13 years old to use Google Pay.
