The Glastonbury Festival kicks off on Wednesday 26 June with the opening of the gates and Lauren Laverne’s live on BBC Radio 6 Music for the occasion.
Chris Hawkins is on hand for the early risers from 5am, kicking off All Day Glastonbury, which runs from Wednesday 26 June to Monday 1 July across 6 Music and BBC Sounds.

Dua Lipa: My Glastonbury – BBC Two and BBC iPlayer
Ahead of her headline set this weekend on the Pyramid Stage, global pop sensation Dua Lipa explores her Glastonbury journey to date. From attending the festival to performing at it, everything has led up to this huge moment, headlining the first night of Glastonbury 2024.
Alongside discussing her own performances, Dua talks us through her earliest memories of Glastonbury from first watching artists like Jay-Z in 2008 on TV, to attending the festival as a punter in 2014, watching Dolly Parton, and being inspired by performances from the likes of Stormzy, Chemical Brothers and Tame Impala. Dua also looks back on her own performance debut at Glastonbury in 2016 and her return in 2017, which she cites as a life-changing moment.

Vernon Kay - BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds
Ahead of her Sunday Legends Slot at Glastonbury, Vernon welcomes music superstar Shania Twain as she takes listeners on her 10 song life journey in Tracks Of My Years. Her tracks selections come from The Carpenters, Bread, Toto, Bonnie Rait, Vince Gill, Glen Campbell, Bette Midler, Celine Dion, Rag’N'Bone Man and Sam Smith ft. Kim Petras.
Shania’s set will be broadcast on Radio 2 on Sunday 30June during a show presented by Jo Whiley from Glastonbury from 5-8pm and available to watch on TV and BBC iPlayer.

Kim Deal - 6 Music Artist in Residence - BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC Sounds
This week American bassist Kim Deal is the 6 Music Artist in Residence. The original bassist and co-vocalist in the alternative rock band Pixies, she is now the frontwoman of her band Breeders, which she formed in 1989 and who will be performing at Glastonbury later this week.

Tuesday 25 June
Coldplay: Our Glastonbury - BBC Two and BBC iPlayer
Ahead of their record-breaking fifth headline set, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin talks us through the band’s epic 25 year Glastonbury experience. Alongside snippets of archive interviews from the rest of the band, Chris details their journey from their debut in the New Bands Tent in 1999, to quickly progressing to the Other Stage the following year, followed by a performance at the Pilton Fete in 2001 which impressed Michael Eavis so much he invited them back to headline Glastonbury in 2002.
Since then they have been endearingly coined the ‘Glastonbury house band’ having headlined in 2005, 2011 and 2016 and return to headline the Saturday night this weekend. Chris also talks us through some of the artists they’ve encountered along the way such as Pulp in 1995, Badly Drawn Boy in 2000 and Stormzy in 2019.

Wednesday 26 June
Little Simz: My Glastonbury - BBC Two and BBC iPlayer
British rapper, musician and songwriter Little Simz talks us through her Glastonbury journey as she gets ready for a career-defining moment – taking to the Pyramid Stage for the very first time. In this programme, the 2022 Mercury Prize winner Little Simz reminisces about her own experience at the festival, from performing in 2016 on the West Holts Stage, to her return on The Park Stage in 2019, before her headline set in 2022 back on the West Holts Stage.
Along the way, she talks about some of the standout performances she has seen on Worthy Farm including the likes of The Good, The Bad & The Queen in 2019 and Burna Boy and Kendrick Lamar in 2022, all of which have informed her experience at Glastonbury ahead of this weekend’s Pyramid Stage performance.

Chris kicks off the first All Day Glastonbury on 6 Music, bringing listeners the spirit of Glastonbury from Salford with a mix of music from this year’s artists and those who have played Glastonbury before, including tracks recorded live at the festival over the years.

Lauren presents live from Worthy Farm as the gates open for Glastonbury 2024, and will be in conversation with festival organiser Emily Eavis.

From their studio up on a hill overlooking The Park Stage and beyond to the rest of the festival, Clara Amfo and Lauren Laverne will bring you all the stories from the first couple of days on site and look ahead at what’s to come.
With performances from Dua Lipa, Coldplay, Shania Twain, SZA and many more, Glastonbury 2024 promises to be another momentous year. Clara and Lauren will also be joined by special guests and some unique performances in the BBC Park Studio.

Huw Stephens presents two artists making their return to Glastonbury Festival. Former frontman and founder of The Housemartins and The Beautiful South, Paul Heaton takes to the Pyramid Stage for the first time solo; expect classic hits from his considerable discography and treats from his latest record N.K – Pop.
Second up is London pop trio Sugababes who grace the West Holts Stage, performing at the festival once again as their original line-up and for the first time since the release of their album The Lost Tapes. With a catalogue of pop anthems including Overload and Push the Button, this will be a set with plenty of crowd sing-a-longs and brimming with girl power.

Dexys & PJ Harvey at Glastonbury 2024 - BBC Four and BBC iPlayer
Huw Stephens introduces an eclectic double bill from Friday evening at Glastonbury Festival. First up on the Park Stage are Birmingham’s finest, Dexys, who return to the festival 10 years after their debut in 2014. They’ll be reminding the crowd at Worthy Farm of their huge hits which have gone the distance since the 80s, think Come on Eileen and Geno, alongside some newer sounds from their 2023 album The Feminine Divine.
Then over to the Pyramid Stage for much lauded musician PJ Harvey, who is no stranger to the festival, having made her debut in 1992. From Dorset, Polly Jean Harvey is known for holding the impressive accolade of being the only person to have won the Mercury Prize twice and throughout her illustrious career never stands still, reinventing her sound and direction, as shown in her latest album, 2023’s I Inside the Old Year Dying.

Huw Stephens introduces Bristol’s IDLES live from the fields of Worthy Farm as they return to Glastonbury as headliners on the Other Stage, where they last appeared in 2022.

Dua Lipa returns to perform on the farm for the third time, having made her debut in 2016, swiftly followed in 2017 by a momentous set, which she refers to as a career highlight. Now she graces the stage in the top spot as one of the biggest artists in the world, fresh off the back of the release of her third album Radical Optimism.
The record scored her another Number 1, is filled with pop bangers like Houdini and ‘Illusion’ and saw Dua work with celebrated producer Kevin Parker of Tame Impala. This is all the year after the singer made her big screen debut in Barbie, as well as contributing Number 1 hit Dance the Night Away to the soundtrack.
She’s promised to turn the field in front of her into a dancefloor, so get ready for an unmissable show!

Glastonbury Channel II– New for 2024, this will be the place to catch up on Glastonbury’s most talked about performances and moments every day (Friday 28 June, 6pm-midnight, Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 June, 10am – late).
Pyramid Stage – Signed – After its success in 2023, Pyramid Stage – Signed returns this year, bringing audiences performances from Glastonbury’s most iconic stage in British Sign Language (Friday 28 – Sunday 30 June, times may vary)
Classic Glastonbury Channel– Viewers can kickstart Glastonbury early from Monday 10 June with an extensive selection of classic performances from previous festivals. Sets include Elton John’s instant classic headline performance from 2023, Kylie Minogue’s unforgettable Legends slot from 2019, Dave’s famous 2019 performance – including that Thiago Silva moment - on the Other Stage, Ed Sheeran (2017) and Fred again.. (2023), as well as themed compilations and documentaries. Classic Glastonbury continues throughout the weekend itself, until Sunday 30 June, allowing viewers to move between the years as well as the stages.
Glastonbury Highlights Channel– For those wanting to catch up on the sets they missed, or to relive those memorable moments they experienced in the field, Glastonbury Highlights will provide a 24 hour stream, featuring a range of artists from 2024 (Monday July – Saturday 14 July, midnight-midnight).
There are also five live streams from each of the main festival stages - Pyramid, Other, West Holts, Woodsies and The Park– allowing viewers to choose their Glastonbury experience as if they were there, moving between the five main festival stages at the click of a button. Pyramid Stage sets will also be available to stream live in Ultra High Definition (Friday 28 – Sunday 30 June, times may vary).
