However, there are two different minimum wage rates in Florida: one for non-tipped employees and one for tipped employees. Non-tipped employees must be paid at least $12.00 per hour. Tipped employees must be paid at least $8.98 per hour in cash wages, plus tips.

The current minimum wage in Florida is $12 an hour, so the tipped minimum wage is $8.98. Both will go up a dollar each until they reach $15 an hour for non-tipped employees and $11.98 for tipped employees.
