Vehicles exempt from vehicle excise duty or roadtax.
If you have a child aged three or over who qualifies for the Disability Living Allowance (DLA) mobility component at the higher rate, or receive enhanced rate mobility component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP) you may be exempt from paying vehicle tax.
Thefollowing types of vehicle may be exempt from road tax:
- Vehicles used by a disabled person
- Disabled passenger vehicles
- Vehicles used by organisations to transport disabled people
- Mobility scooters, powered wheel chairs and invalid carriages
