The Internal Audit Section of the Comptroller’s Office maintains the city’s Fraud Hotline. The purpose of this hotline is to receive information related to theft, corruption, fraudulent financial statements or other improper spending of city tax dollars. The information will then be referred to the appropriate department or agency.
This is not a city services complaint line. If you have a question or complaint regarding city services or neighborhood concerns, please contact the Citizens Service Bureau at 314-622-4800 or visit it online.
To report suspected fraud, please call the Fraud Hotline at 314-641-8600.
Calls received by the hotline are reviewed and referred to the appropriate departments or agencies—including law enforcement—for investigation. If IAS determines that an audit is warranted, it will begin an audit, and upon completion the audit report will be delivered to departmental management and other entities as appropriate for corrective action. Completed audit reports are published on the Comptroller’s Office website for transparency.
The confidentiality of calls to the Fraud Hotline is protected under federal law, Missouri state law and the City of St. Louis Comptroller's Office fraud policy.
Thank you for doing your part in helping protect your tax dollars. The City of St. Louis appreciates your assistance in making government more accountable and efficient.
