Do you just offer cancellation on its own? I don’t need anything else.
Several of our plans include Trip Cancellation. We do not currently offer a "cancellation-only" plan.
Can I omit some of the coverage that I don’t need?
Our products are complete benefit packages; coverage cannot be omitted. We offer a line of products with varying benefits and limits and are confident one of our plans will be the right fit for you.
Who counts as a “Family Member”?
For our Worldwide Trip Protector and Worldwide Trip Protector Edge plans the definition is as follows:
“Family Member” means any of the following: Your or Your Traveling Companion’s legal spouse/domestic partner, children (includes in-law, step, foster, ward, or legal ward), sibling (includes step or in-law), parent (includes step or in-law and legal guardian), grandparent, grandchild, aunt, uncle, niece or nephew.
Who can I list under the same plan?
Anyone who resides in the same household can be on the same plan, otherwise they must be on separate plans.
Can I add to/change my plan’s trip cost at a later date if I make additional purchases for my trip?
Yes, you can add pre-paid and non-refundable trip costs as long as it is prior to departure. Be sure to add trip costs within 21 days from the change of trip cost in order to be eligible for any time sensitive benefits. You can do so through your Travel Insured account or by contacting Customer Care.
When is the last day I can buy a plan?
You may buy a plan up until departure, however the coverage will not go into effect until 12:01 AM the following day.
For example: If you buy a plan at 9:00 AM Monday, the coverage will not go into effect until 12:01 AM Tuesday. If you buy a plan at 11:30 PM Wednesday the coverage will go into effect after 30 minutes at 12:01 AM Thursday.
What’s the difference between primary and secondary coverage?
Primary coverage removes excess insurance limitations for benefits. If you have primary coverage with us you will submit a claim directly with us first, whereas if your coverage is secondary you must go through your other provider(s) first. If they deny you or do not cover the full amount then you may file a claim with us.
What information do I need in order to purchase travel protection?
You will need to know the following information for each traveler on a plan:
- Name
- Date of Birth
- Trip Cost (per person)
- Address of Residence
- Email address
- Phone number
- Primary destination
- Initial trip deposit date
How do I calculate my trip cost?
Your trip cost is anything that is prepaid and non-refundable.
If I need to be medically evacuated, will I be flown straight home?
The emergency assistance company we use will transport you to the closest facility up to U.S. standards. If deemed medically necessary by the onsite physician and the physician on-call with the emergency assistance company, you will be transported back to the U.S.
If needed, what is the process of being medically evacuated?
You would call C&F Services, our emergency assistance partner, and they would work with you and their emergency team/personnel to evacuate you in whatever way was medically necessary, to the closest medical facility up to U.S. standards. What’s the difference between Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption coverage?
If you are not able to take your trip due to a covered reason you would file a Trip Cancellation claim. If you have already departed for your trip and have to return home for a covered reason you would file a Trip Interruption claim.
