Can I study at Mangosuthu with 20 points? ›

Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT) courses that require 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25 points (APS) Meeting the minimum points (APS) does not guarantee admission to your desired course because you still need to meet other requirements such as subject requirements, tests and interviews.

Please note that MUT does not allow or consider walkin applications.

iv) NCV level 4 with a minimum of 50% pass in English and Mathematics (Mathematical Literacy would not be considered) and a minimum of 60% pass in three compulsory vocational subjects: Physical Science, Process Technology and Process Chemistry or Process Control.

That is why MUT offers the most competitive tuition fee structure, ranging between R4 530 and R15 350 per semester depending on the course and subjects. Residence fees range between R4 120 and R11 150 per semester. Travel expenses, meals, stationery and text books are not included in the tuition and residence costs.

(iv) National Certificate N4 (TVET Colleges) Students who obtained minimum points between 16 and 19 from Matric and passed four subjects at N4 Level with a minimum of 50% will be considered for selection.

The faculty comprises four departments; Accountancy, Human Resource Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and Marketing, Retail Business and Sport Management.

Students who complete the diploma will gain adequate knowledge to enter a wide variety of fields such as retailing, manufacturing, insurance, banking, logistics, and marketing. The qualification offers a wider scope for job opportunities than does most specialist diplomas.

Does Mangosuthu accept late applications? ›

Applications open in January and close on 30 September with late applications accepted until 30 November.

A minimum of 24 points in the best six subjects excluding Life Orientation and including English and Mathematics / Mathematical Literacy is required. Senior certificate or equivalent with a minimum of 27 points in the six best performed subjects and a pass in Mathematics and English.

At MUT we offer the National Diplomas in Chemical, Civil, Surveying, Electrical, Building (Construction Management & Quantity Surveying), and Mechancial Engineering. We also offer a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering.

Just as any major has its challenging courses, economics requires the study of complex concepts that don't often have black-and-white solutions. Within the discipline there is a wide range of topics from macroeconomics (the study of economy-wide issues) to microeconomics (the study of individual behavior).

To be eligible for admission at CUT, a candidate must achieve a minimum of 27 APS points on the CUT scoring scale.
