Solved Examples on Factors of 24
With the knowledge of all the previous headers, we can say that factors are always whole numbers and they cannot be fractions or decimals. Let us try some questions related to the topic for more practice.
Example 1: What are the factors of 24 that add up to 11?
Solution: Factors of 24 that after addition are equal to 11 are (3, 8). As the addition of 3 and 8 is equal to 11 and their product is equal to 24.
Example 2: For the numbers 24 and 21 determine the common factors.
Solution: To list down the common factors, 24 and 21, first find all the factors of 24 and 21.
Factors of 24 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12 and 24.
Factors of 21 = 1, 3, 7 and 21
From the list, we can say that there are two common factors between the two numbers 24 and 21 i.e. 1 and 3.
