It was a horrible moment foreverybody, more so for Saka.
That’s theworst dressing room I’ve ever been involved in after a game.
Prince William actually came in and spoke tous all and he was amazing with every single player.
He went round the boys who had missed apenalty on the night, gave them all a hug and consoled them.

But the void has been filled with the appointment of Scott Parker as head coach on a three-year deal and he will face the media for the first time this morning.
The former England midfielder's previously managerial appointment was at Belgian side Club Bruges, where he was sacked in March 2023 after lasting just 12 games.
The 43-year-old returns to English football and will now be aiming to achieve promotion with the Clarets at the first attempt after relegation last season, having achieved the same with Fulham and Bournemouth.

BBC SportThe Euros may be grabbing plenty of attention but the Premier League is starting to ramp up, with teams returning for pre-season training.
Manchester United are back today which raises inevitable question marks over the presence of Mason Greenwood and Jadon Sancho in particular.
Greenwood has been the subject of bids from Marseille and Lazio. He has not trained at United since those serious criminal allegations were made against him in January 2022.
Sancho has not trained with the first-team at United since September 2023, when he refused to apologise for the inflammatory social media post criticising manager Erik ten Hag.
In addition, it was not totally clear whether Casemiro refused to go on the bench after being dropped for the FA Cup final in May. He certainly made a swift exit from the post-match celebrations.
The Brazilian was left out of his country's Copa America squad.
And there may also be a return to the club for Ruud van Nistelrooy, who was just awaiting a work permit to join Ten Hag's coaching team.

But you have to be a special human being, youhave to be a person who is strong mentally, you have be a strong character toget through what he got through after the final at Wembley in 2020.
What he received [abuse on social media] was embarrassing, it was horrendous. He's a special, specialperson and it was magical for everyone.

Some pretty dark memories there Dave, indeed.
Jude Bellingham said after Saturday's win that his first memory of tournament football was England losing to Italy in a penalty shootout at the 2012 Euros.
Well there is a chance the Real Madrid midfielder will have given some young England supporters a fonder first memory with his acrobatic equaliser against Slovakia or, of course, the part he played in Saturday's penalty shootout win over Switzerland.

In the 20 years after Euro 96 we didn't qualify for some tournaments, didn't win a game at others and never made it past a quarter-final. We had a faith healer, the 'Wally with the Brolly' and a manager who barely made it past two months in charge. People criticising Gareth Southgate should look back at the embarrassment of those two decades and see how far we've come since.

I'll be honest, I was sat at home and I was thinking that I wasn’t nervousin any way.
Obviously, I was nervous because it’s penaltiesand because of the past and the history and all that sort of stuff, but I looked at the lads walking up and I thought,they’re going to score.
I think it's fullcredit to the preparation of the players, the manager and the staff with howconfident the penalty takers were...becausethey were fantastic, I loved every minute of it.

Back to Michael Caulfield, speaking on 5 Live Breakfast, on England's not-so-secret weapon - their penalty takers.
The sports psychologist, who works with Ivan Toney at Brentford, says he was impressed with the collective skill all five England penalty takers showed in dispatching their spot-kicks against Switzerland.
“Penalties look easy but they’re actually really difficult because ofthe amount of scrutiny and pressure on them," he said.
“They are not a lottery [as some people suggest].
“Trent Alexander-Arnold's [decisive final] penalty was literally unsaveable.That’s the perfect penalty."
On Toney's no-look penalty technique: “It’s a remarkable skill he’s refined over the years. He’s got an extraordinary mind for a young man. This is a tough youngman. A very smart young man.
“We are all very proud ofhim."

Former England defender Rio Ferdinand spoke about the "solid environment" Gareth Southgate has created for the players at Euro 2024, after he led them to a third semi-final in four tournaments.
"These guys look at each other and they find strength, and he has created that with his backroom staff," Ferdinand said on Southgate, after watching England set up a last-four encounter with the Netherlands with victory over Switzerland via a penalty shootout in Saturday's quarter-final.
"He has to take big credit for that. Now this team are used to going deep into tournament football."

Brentford's sport psychologist Michael Caulfield, who worked with Gareth Southgate during his time as Middlesbrough manager, has been speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast about how the England boss is dealing with the criticism he has received.
“I’m like the rest of the country, just stillenjoying what was a fantastic weekend of sport," said Caulfield, on his happiness at seeing his friend mastermind England's penalty shootout success against Switzerland.
"The whole point of sport is thejoy of it. For him to carry on leading with realdignity, with some pretty personal criticism, it speaks a lot about the man.
